2. Membership intake 

  • This is where we will determine how your stats and daily routine add up to a personalized program tailored to your needs. We will set up the initial duration of your membership (minimum 3 months), milestones, patient expectations, measurements, and current diet/lifestyle. We will also need “before” pictures of you in different positions (we will instruct you to take these from your phone) so we can track your progress.

 

3. Weekly Prescription Injections 

  • This can be done virtually or in our office, whichever you prefer. If you come into the office, you have the option to “add-on” elective services to boost your weight-loss results, such as IV hydration therapy, concierge doctor services, and more.

4. Weekly Check-Ins

  • This can be done during your injections or another time of the week at your convenience. Frequently Asked Questions About Our Medical Weightloss Program.

  1. Semaglutide injection is used to treat type 2 diabetes. It is used together with diet and exercise to help control your blood sugar. This medicine is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart or blood vessel disease. Semaglutide is not insulin, however it does help your pancreas release insulin when blood sugar levels are high. 

Doctors can prescribe it for adults who have obesity, with a body mass index (BMI) of greater than 30; or overweight, with a BMI greater than 27 accompanied by weight-related medical problems such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. The medication is not recommended for those with a personal or family history of certain endocrine or thyroid tumors, specifically, medullary thyroid cancer. You should not take semaglutide if you have type 1 Diabetes.  

This medicine is given as a shot under the skin of your stomach, thighs, or upper arm. A different body area is used each time you receive a shot.  

Semaglutide works for weight-loss by increasing the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas and decreasing the amount of glucagon produced by the liver. This combination results in reduced hunger and increased energy levels, leading to weight loss.

Adults—At first, 0.25 milligrams (mg) injected under the skin once a week for 4 weeks. Your doctor may increase your dose every 4 weeks. However, the dose is usually not more than 2.4 mg once a week. 

Tiredness is one of the possible side effects of semaglutide.

Yes, you can! Ayan Wellness recommends at least 2.5 hours of physical activity weekly, however, major diet and lifestyle changes (while encouraged) are not required for our weight-loss membership. 

Amount of weight and speed of loss will vary from person to person, however, a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine showed that after just four weeks of taking semaglutide, patients experienced more than a 2% reduction in body weight.
